~ 25th February ~
On an early morning like no other, the city of Kyiv was rocked by two deadly explosions from cruise and ballistic missiles. The Ukrainian government had shot down an enemy aircraft flying above local airspace which then crashed into a sleepy residential area, setting it on the fire.

It was quickly discovered that Russian forces were heading into the country from the north towards their capital Kyiv. In the first twenty-four hours Russia had started targeting civilian sites and before anyone knew it the first report of non-military casualties had been discovered. Two teachers from a local school building in Kharkiv were mercilessly and viciously attacked by Russian soldiers.

When the evening arrived, and the blood-red sunset fell over Ukraine the Russians still had not established “air supremacy”. The fight had only started for the freedom of the Ukrainian people and from this day forward, no one in the world will forget …

This track has two guest soloists appear ~ Stephen Krigbaum who does the first solo and Alex Rooney who performs the second solo. I would like to thank these musicians for their hard work and amazing playing.

Anthony Dahl wrote the lyrics for this piece and wrote all vocal melodies and accompanying harmonies.

This track began life in November 2021 and was completed around January 2022.
